AquaPro Kalkwasser is high-purity calcium hydroxide formulated for preparing kalkwasser solution for reef aquariums. When mixed correctly with purified water, the solution supplies calcium and hydroxide that react with dissolved carbon dioxide and bicarbonate in the aquarium, contributing to calcium and alkalinity replacement.
Kalkwasser is commonly added slowly through top-off water to replace some or all evaporated water, depending on system demand. Because the solution has a high pH, it must be prepared and dosed carefully to avoid rapid pH changes.
